Stay with us…

rose-crown-006-4With the promise of lovely Spring weather (we hope), and plenty of bank holidays on the horizon, it’s time for a little break we think, and where better to visit than one of this country’s most enchanting, historic market towns.

Not far off the beaten track, Warwick’s a little gem well worth seeking out for a long weekend for two, or a half term break with the family. A relaxed and friendly town, with a rich mix of history and heritage and a really picturesque setting of narrow streets lined with beautiful historic buildings and gardens to explore. There’s also a wealth of pretty shop fronts with a wonderfully eclectic blend of gifts, books, jewellery, vintage clothes and lovely things for the home.

And don’t forget the castle, one of the most dramatic and well preserved mediaeval castles in the country.

There’s also plenty to see and do nearby, including all the attractions in Shakespeare county, pop-up art galleries at the Warwickshire Open Studios and the world’s largest collection of historic British cars at the British Motor Museum.

The Rose & Crown / Warwick

After all this action, you’ll need a room for the night, and some good food and drink to go with it. That’s where we come in. Right in the heart of town, the pub buzzes all day long, serving fresh food from breakfast until supper with everything in between.

We source our meat from Warwickshire butcher Aubrey Allen, serve free-range chicken, eggs, pork and ice-cream, plus Cornish lamb and native fish are the order of the day.  Pop in soon, and you’ll also see the best Hampshire asparagus on our specials boards, served with poached egg and hollandaise. Delicious. Dinner is served every night 6pm-10pm, though you can grab something to eat any time of day.

We serve well-kept beers from local breweries Purity Gold and Church Farm, as well as a great selection of wines by the glass and bottle, many ofthem fabulous world class wines, all at reasonable pub prices.  We have 13 en-suite rooms,  each offering a mix of subtle luxury with wonderful home comforts – good handmade beds with fine Egyptian cotton sheets, piles of downy pillows and pure wool throws, antique armoires and writing desks and plenty of space to relax.

hf-breakfasts-27After a good night’s sleep, there’s a hearty breakfast menu to set you up for the day, included in your room rate. Choose from a great cooked English breakfast with free-range bacon and sausages from Jimmy-Butler and local free-range eggs; smashed avocado and free-range poached eggs on sourdough from the Brown Sugar Bakery. Check out the breakfast menu here.

So, make one of these next few bank holidays, a relaxing one. Check out the stay with us page on our website or give us a call on 01926 411117.
